Rusty James: He was the icon of the movie. As the first character he was the person which the movie moves around. Also I think he was really important because the story took place from his own personal life.
The Motorcycle Boy: He also was a really important character on the movie. He was the “hero” the image to follow for Rusty. Furthermore he was the one who always took care of Rusty in difficult situations. He taught Rusty how to be free because Rusty was made for being a free spirit.
Steve Hays: Well, Steve in my opinion was another important character because apart from being Rusty’s Friend he enters to the story and gives the mood of …Ok what’s going on here?... He was like the “good” part that Rusty never had. And also he was the only one for me that faced the Motorcycle Boy, because he suspected him and did not really believe in what T.M.B. represented to Rusty.
Patty: Well, she was not so important I think because she was Rusty’s girlfriend in turn. Also, Rusty did not care very much about their relationship which means that although she was necessary for the story, she did not have so much importance at the end when Rusty decided to leave her alone and not to find her anymore.
Cassandra: I think she was not really important in the movie because the only thing that I got from her was that she was a little bit crazy. She was M.C.B.’s chick but she did not have very much participation on the movie.
Patterson: He was important in the way he acted in order to be the bad guy, the antagonist. From the very beginning he wanted to kill M.C.B. because they had an old story in the streets and he did not want to have another Rumble Fish on his domain.
Smokey: I think he was not really important for the movie. The only cruel thing that he did was the cheating on Rusty James. He in a way arranged the situation in order to separate Rusty form Patty, because he liked her.
